What we have done

• All content is in the page in reading order, including the text of every technical drawing, which carries a title and a description for screen readers.
• Body text contrasts with its background at 14.3 to 1, well above the 4.5 to 1 required. The lightest text on the site, used for drawing annotation and for the labels in a page’s title block, is 4.6 to 1. Every size of text on the site meets the 4.5 to 1 minimum, not only the large text that is allowed 3 to 1.
• Every interactive element has a visible focus outline, and none of them has had it removed.
• Tables are real tables with proper headers, and every form field has a real visible label rather than grey text inside the box that vanishes when you type.
• The site works in both light and dark theme, and respects a reduced motion preference. The only motion on the site is the fading in of drawing annotation, and it does not run at all if you have asked your device to reduce motion.
• Tap targets are at least 44 by 44 pixels.
• Text can be resized to 200 per cent without loss of content or function.

Known limitations

• Technical drawings are wide. On a small screen some of them scroll sideways within their own frame. The full text description of every drawing is available to assistive technology and the same information is given in words in the column beside it.
• Schedule tables scroll sideways on a small screen. This is deliberate: compressing a schedule to fit a phone would make it unreadable as a schedule.
• Manufacturer brochures are supplied as PDFs by their publishers and we do not control their accessibility. Ring us and we will give you the same information over the phone or in an accessible format.
