The door opens itself
Supply, and supply and fit, of automatic swing door operators. On main entrances, on internal commercial doors, on accessible WCs and in high end residential, fully automatic or low energy.

A fire door heavy enough to hold back a fire is heavy enough to defeat a child.
That is the reason an operator gets specified more often than any other, and it is the reason the alternative is never simply a lighter door.
Why they get specified
Four reasons, in order of how often they come up- Fire doors are heavy. Young children and older people may not have the strength to open a heavy fire door. An operator removes that problem without weakening the door.
- Access. Operators are a route to meeting the opening force guidance in BS 8300-2 on doors where a closer alone cannot do it. Where a closer cannot meet the figures, BS 8300-2 routes to swing-free devices, hold-open units or power operation.
- Traffic. They improve movement through buildings and walkways carrying high volumes of people.
- Integration. They interface with access control and building management systems, so an entrance can be secure and easy to use at the same time.
Power operated pedestrian doorsets are installed to BS EN 16005, and a powered door on an escape route has to fail into a state the fire strategy allows. Both are cheaper to decide at Stage 3 than after the operator is on the wall.
